The  Swedish Bar Association’s consumer dispute committee hears fee disputes and other financial claims that a client directs against a lawyer or law firm in connection with a service. In this context, consumer refers to a natural person who acts for purposes that fall outside business or professional activities.

In order for the consumer dispute board to hear the dispute, you as a client must first inform your lawyer about this and you must try to resolve the dispute before it is sent to the bar association. Your claim may not fall below SEK 1,000 and may not exceed SEK 200,000.
